Professional Bio
Jenica Hickey joined the Arizona Multihousing Association after relocating from the Midwest, where she was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and spent more than 15 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She happily traded snowflakes for sunshine and now brings more than 15 years of association management experience to the AMA team, including eight years with the Minnesota Multi Housing Association.
Jenica's career combines association leadership with firsthand multifamily housing experience. Before joining AMA, she worked for a regional property management company overseeing a portfolio of more than 5,500 apartment homes, managed a 200+ unit luxury community, and owned and managed her own single-family rental property. This unique background gives her a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing AMA members.
Jenica holds a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), the highest professional credential in association management. She is also a graduate of ASAE's Ready Me leadership program and the Arizona Foundation for Women's She Leads program and earned a Certificate in Grant Development from Arizona State University.
She received the Minnesota Multi Housing Association's 2018 MADACS Award for Support Staff and has helped lead award-winning initiatives recognized by the National Apartment Association, the Arizona Society of Association Executives, and the American Society of Association Executives.
Jenica serves on the American Society of Association Executive's Professional Development Advisory Council and the Arizona Society of Association Executives Professional Development Committee. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and cat.
